GM. Fitment is where people spend a lot of money to make the car drive worse. The win is a setup that looks right, drives right, doesn’t rub, and doesn’t eat tires in 3,000 miles.
Fitment basics (no pain)
- Wheel width = how wide the wheel is
- Offset (ET) = where the wheel sits in/out
- Spacer = pushes the wheel out
- Camber = helps clearance and turn-in, but can increase inner wear if you’re careless
Pick your goal
- Stock-ish, no-rub daily friendly
- Flush street look (minimal compromises)
- Track fitment (tire-first, looks second)
Why rubbing happens
- Too low
- Too much tire
- Wrong offset
- Not enough camber
- Bad alignment
Alignment matters
If your alignment is off, your “fitment problem” might just be your tires trying to die.
Tell me whether you’re aiming at mostly stock suspension, springs, or coilovers and I’ll lock in specific fitment recipes.
